The Night Owls -

ON STAGE 15.10 – 15.50 hrs

The Night Owls were formed in early 2008 from members of Taunton Ukulele Strummers Club (TUSC) and feature the ukulele and vocal stylings of Pat Goodall, Jim Gritt, Tom French and Nipper. The band form their repertoire from the hot syncopated songs of the 1920’s and the wooing love songs of the 1930’s and 40’s; these are some of the greatest songs ever written and sit perfectly on the ukulele.

Friends In China
She Told me I was silly is a track that was concieved way before the ACM years and goes right back to the days when FIC were under the name Iphigeny. Though the track was originally written as a joke it became FIC's most notorious track. With its at first singable chorus followed by a rhyme that even the most trained ear couldnt make out, She told me is by far the pop song for the boys from Guilford.

The Outcast Band
With echoes of The Waterboys, New Model Army and The Levellers, the band produce a huge sound firmly based in rock and complemented by violin, mandolin and accordion. With songs such as Hurricane Day (“epic”- Classic Rock Society)
and The Garden Song (“a wall of sound” – Get Ready To Rock) the band hold nothing back, giving the audience a performance packed full of raw emotion.

Railroad Bill
Railroad Bill play raw, fast, gutsy skiffle music on the simplest of instruments - washboard, tea chest bass, guitar and mandolin. With an act that has been honed on the streets and on the stages of the UK and abroad, they have been described as 'Lonnie Donegan on Speed' - and we're not talking dustmen here - the material is rooted in American Blues - songs of Gambling, Trains, Drinking and Prison - A sort of Sea Sick Steve meets the Ramones...

One Step Behind - Masters of Madness
"One Step Behind" are the UK's PREMIER MADNESS tribute band. The band was formed in Spring 1993 and has achieved widespread recognition in an unusually short time.
At first they played low profile venues in their native London, but quickly progressed and were invited to play larger and more prominent venues such as The Grand, The Venue and The Marquee.

Each member of One Step Behind grew up as a Madness fan and for each, perfecting his portrayal of his original Madness counterpart has been a labour of love.
