Mann Friday
Time on stage: 21:30
Freshly grown from Southern African soil, Mann Friday music has landed in London and is here to stay. Having been based in Cape Town for 2001 & 2002, Mann Friday won the Battle of the Bands and went on to record their first major album The Orchard, soon to be followed by electronica cross-over project Penga . Looking to make the leap onto the global stage the band relocated to the UK in May 2003 teaming up with Welsh drummer Chris Gutch, London rocker of Rehab ( ZTT,Warner ) and Collapsed Lung ( Deceptive Records ) fame. The new union of driving rock guts and acoustic heart would redefine the group and see an unprecedented response from the London gig-circuit.

Three months later their musical theatre performance The Zimbabwe Ruins would emerge victorious from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival contributing to sell-out shows of the bands live rock gigs in London shortly after. The band was invited to perform the controversial rock-show at the prestigious Riverside Studios in Hammersmith for a prime ten-day summer run. The performance broke box-office records and the independent outfit shifted a thousand albums over that week. With increasing radio-play, commercial interest and a long-awaited album currently in the studio Mann Friday are poised to take the UK music scene by storm.

Blue Horses
Time on stage: 23:15
Folk rock but not in the traditional sense Blue Horses are powerful, melodic and visually compelling having  terrific improvisations on the genre.  This is a rhythmic funky bundle of fun with twiddly bits, flying fiddles, swirling sounds and soaring vocals.  They love folk and their own traditional music, but they love to rock even more and this unabashed enthusiasm and joy in playing is what shines through.......
